Barnhart Balfour Beatty is currently seeking Project Managers to fill educational positions for projects in California.
Description: Project Managers employed by Barnhart Balfour Beatty are responsible for the overall management of construction projects. The Project Manager ensures that each project is completed on a timely manner on schedule, within budget, and above all, meets owner’s standards and expectations.
Duties and responsibilities of a Project Manager include the following:
* Manage multiple projects concurrently
* Preconstruction support; value engineering; scheduling.
* Provide input in the design phase; prepare Bid Packages and manage Bid Phase
* Coordinate all disciplines involved with each construction project & promote team work
* Work closely with multiple representatives of the Owner
* Prepare Reports, updates, and presentations concerning project status and forecasts
* Perform all customary construction process duties that include managing billing, Consultant and Contractors’ payments, process RFI’s and Change Orders, construction Notices and Closeout.
* Be versed in contract writing and administration.
* Conduct progress meetings with Owner.
* Perform financial analysis of project (cost-to-complete).
* Manage and resolve disputes
* Identify issues early and be adept at problem solving.
* Prepares monthly job status reports and communicate regularly with senior management.
* Implement safety requirements and have working experience with SWPPP
Qualifications:
* Four-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred. Previous experience will be considered in lieu of formal degree.
* Minimum of 3-5 years experience in public works projects as a Project Manager. Minimum 3-years experience in Public Works that includes installation of multiple wet and dry utilities in a campus-like setting.
* Experience in K-12, community colleges, universities, and/or public agency construction.
* Experience with document control software and scheduling software and Microsoft Office.
