Barnhart Balfour Beatty donated construction management services for Junior Achievement BizTown, a 10,000 square foot educational playhouse where students learn about business and society. To help reduce costs for the charity, Barnhart Balfour Beatty headed up an effort to obtain labor and material donations from local contractors. The education center serves 12,000 local students each year. The goal is not only to create future business leaders, but more importantly, foster the development of responsible citizenship.
The project garnered Barnhart Balfour Beatty a 2008 Associated General Contractors (AGC) Build America Merit Award as well as 2008 Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Award from the San Diego Chapter.
